มหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง (มฟล.) จัดงานเลี้ยงรับรองเพื่อเป็นเกียรติแก่ผู้ได้รับพระราชทานปริญญาดุษฎีบัณฑิตกิตติมศักดิ์ ประจำปีการศึกษา 2567 และรางวัลเชิดชูเกียรติ "ตุงทองคำ" ประจำปี 2568 เมื่อวันพุธที่ 11 มีนาคม 2569 ณ ห้องประชุมวนาสวรรค์ วนาศรม มหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง จังหวัดเชียงราย โดยมีศาสตราจารย์พิเศษ ดร.วันชัย ศิริชนะ นายกสภามหาวิทยาลัย พร้อมด้วยกรรมการสภามหาวิทยาลัยและแขกผู้มีเกียรติร่วมแสดงความยินดี

ในพิธีดังกล่าว ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.มัชฌิมา นราดิศร อธิการบดี กล่าวความเป็นมาและประกาศเกียรติคุณผู้ได้รับปริญญาและรางวัล จากนั้นนายกสภามหาวิทยาลัยและอธิการบดีร่วมกล่าวแสดงความยินดี ก่อนที่ดุษฎีบัณฑิตกิตติมศักดิ์และผู้รับรางวัลจะกล่าวสุนทรพจน์ตามลำดับ

สภามหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวงมีมติเป็นเอกฉันท์อนุมัติปริญญาดุษฎีบัณฑิตกิตติมศักดิ์ ประจำปีการศึกษา 2567 จำนวน 3 ราย เมื่อวันที่ 18 กุมภาพันธ์ 2568 ได้แก่ พระไพศาล วิสาโล ศาสตราจารย์ไชยยศ เหมะรัชตะ และศาสตราจารย์คลินิกเกียรติคุณ นายแพทย์อุดม คชินทร โดย ศาสตราจารย์ไชยยศ เหมะรัชตะ และศาสตราจารย์คลินิกเกียรติคุณ นายแพทย์อุดม คชินทร เข้าเฝ้าฯ รับพระราชทานปริญญาจากสมเด็จพระกนิษฐาธิราชเจ้า กรมสมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี เมื่อวันที่ 12 มีนาคม 2569 นอกจากนี้ยังมีนายนคร พงษ์น้อย เข้ารับพระราชทานรางวัลเชิดชูเกียรติ "ตุงทองคำ" ในโอกาสเดียวกัน

พระไพศาล วิสาโล ได้รับปริญญาปรัชญาดุษฎีบัณฑิตกิตติมศักดิ์ สาขาวิชาสังคมศาสตร์ จากผลงานอันโดดเด่นในฐานะพระภิกษุสงฆ์ผู้น้อมนำหลักพุทธธรรมสู่การเกื้อกูลสังคมอย่างต่อเนื่อง โดยเฉพาะการริเริ่มแนวคิด "การเผชิญความตายอย่างสงบ" และการดูแลผู้ป่วยระยะสุดท้ายแบบองค์รวม รวมถึงการรณรงค์อนุรักษ์ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติกว่าสามทศวรรษ และการประพันธ์หนังสือกว่า 180 เล่ม ที่ชี้แนวทางและปลุกสติสังคมทั้งในระดับชุมชน ประเทศ และนานาชาติ

ศาสตราจารย์ไชยยศ เหมะรัชตะ ได้รับปริญญานิติศาสตรดุษฎีบัณฑิตกิตติมศักดิ์ ในฐานะผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิด้านกฎหมายที่มีคุณูปการอย่างยิ่งต่อการศึกษากฎหมายของประเทศ ในฐานะอาจารย์ประจำคณะนิติศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย และผู้ได้รับพระราชทานโปรดเกล้าฯ แต่งตั้งให้ดำรงตำแหน่งศาสตราจารย์ระดับ 11 คนแรกทางด้านนิติศาสตร์ นอกจากนี้ยังมีบทบาทสำคัญในการก่อตั้งสำนักวิชานิติศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง และเป็นประธานกรรมการบัญญัติศัพท์นิติศาสตร์ที่มีส่วนกำหนดมาตรฐานคำศัพท์ทางกฎหมายของประเทศ

ศาสตราจารย์คลินิกเกียรติคุณ นายแพทย์อุดม คชินทร ได้รับปริญญาสาธารณสุขศาสตรดุษฎีบัณฑิตกิตติมศักดิ์ ในฐานะครูแพทย์ นักวิชาการ และผู้บริหารที่มีบทบาทสำคัญต่อการพัฒนาระบบสุขภาพและการอุดมศึกษาของชาติ ผ่านตำแหน่งสำคัญ อาทิ คณบดีคณะแพทยศาสตร์ศิริราชพยาบาล อธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล รัฐมนตรีช่วยว่าการกระทรวงศึกษาธิการ และประธานคณะกรรมการปฏิรูปประเทศด้านสาธารณสุข รวมทั้งมีบทบาทสนับสนุนการจัดการศึกษาด้านแพทยศาสตร์ของมหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวงอย่างต่อเนื่อง

สำหรับรางวัลเชิดชูเกียรติ "ตุงทองคำ" ประจำปีพุทธศักราช 2568 ซึ่งสภามหาวิทยาลัยมีมติเห็นชอบในคราวประชุมครั้งที่ 1/2568 เมื่อวันที่ 21 มกราคม 2568 มอบแก่นายนคร พงษ์น้อย ผู้อำนวยการอุทยานศิลปะวัฒนธรรมไร่แม่ฟ้าหลวง ผู้มีคุณูปการอย่างยิ่งต่อการออกแบบและสร้างสถาปัตยกรรมที่มีเอกลักษณ์ อาทิ หอคำหลวง และหอแก้ว รวมทั้งการรวบรวมและจัดแสดงศิลปวัตถุที่ทรงคุณค่า อันก่อให้เกิดแรงบันดาลใจในการอนุรักษ์และฟื้นฟูศิลปวัฒนธรรมล้านนาในวงกว้าง นายนครยังเป็นผู้ออกแบบและอำนวยการขบวนอัญเชิญปราสาทเฟื่องในพิธีเปิดมหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวงอย่างเป็นทางการ เมื่อปี 2547 และดำรงตำแหน่งอาจารย์พิเศษในหลักสูตรระยะสั้น สาขาวิชาพุทธศิลปกรรม ของมหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง

การมอบปริญญาดุษฎีบัณฑิตกิตติมศักดิ์และรางวัลเชิดชูเกียรติ "ตุงทองคำ" ในครั้งนี้เป็นเจตนารมณ์ของมหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวงในการประกาศเกียรติคุณผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิที่สร้างคุณประโยชน์ต่อสังคม ประเทศ และมนุษยชาติ เพื่อเป็นเกียรติประวัติและแบบอย่างอันดีงามสืบไป

MFU Hosts Reception HonoringRecipients of Royal Honorary Doctorates and the "Tung Thong Kham" Award (2024–2025)

Mae Fah Luang University (MFU) held a reception in honor of the recipients of Royal Honorary Doctorates for the 2024 academic year and the "Tung Thong Kham" Distinguished Award for 2025, on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the Wanasawan Meeting Room, Wanasom, Mae Fah Luang University, Chiang Rai Province. The event was presided over by Professor Dr. Vanchai Sirichana, Chairman of the University Council, together with members of the University Council and distinguished guests who gathered to extend their congratulations.

During the ceremony, Assistant Professor Dr. Matchima Naradisorn, President of Mae Fah Luang University, delivered remarks outlining the background and citations of the honorees. The Chairman of the University Council and the University President then jointly offered their congratulations, followed by addresses from the honorary doctorate recipients and the award recipient.

The Mae Fah Luang University Council unanimously approved the conferment of Royal Honorary Doctorates for the 2024 academic year on February 18, 2025, to three distinguished individuals: Phra Paisal Visalo, Professor Chaiyos Hemarajata, and Professor Emeritus (Clinical) Dr. Udom Kachintorn. Professor Chaiyos Hemarajata and Professor Emeritus (Clinical) Dr. Udom Kachintorn were granted an audience with Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to receive their degrees on March 12, 2026. On the same occasion, Mr. Nakorn Pongnoy also received the "Tung Thong Kham" Distinguished Award.

Phra Paisal Visalo was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Philosophy in Social Sciences in recognition of his distinguished contributions as a Buddhist monk who has continuously applied the principles of Dhamma for the benefit of society. His work includes pioneering the concept of "peaceful dying” and promoting holistic care for terminally ill patients, advocating for natural resource conservation for more than three decades, and authoring more than 180 books that have guided and awakened public consciousness at the community, national, and international levels.

Professor Chaiyos Hemarajata was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Laws in recognition of his outstanding contributions to legal education in Thailand. A faculty member at Chulalongkorn University's Faculty of Law, he was the first legal scholar in Thailand to be royally appointed to a full professorship at level 11. He also played a pivotal role in establishing the School of Law at Mae Fah Luang University and served as Chairman of the Legal Terminology Committee, helping to set the national standard for Thai legal terminology.

Professor Emeritus (Clinical) Dr. Udom Kachintorn was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Public Health in recognition of his significant contributions as a medical educator, scholar, and administrator to the development of Thailand's health system and higher education. His distinguished leadership roles include Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University; President of Mahidol University; Deputy Minister of Education; and Chairman of the National Health System Reform Committee. He has also continuously supported the development of medical education at Mae Fah Luang University.

The "Tung Thong Kham" Distinguished Award for 2025, approved by the University Council at its first meeting of 2025 on January 21, 2025, was presented to Mr. Nakorn Pongnoy, Director of the Mae Fah Luang Art and Culture Park. He was honored for his exceptional contributions to the design and construction of architecturally distinctive structures, including Hor Kham Luang and Hor Kaew, as well as the curation and display of invaluable cultural artifacts that have inspired broader efforts to conserve and revitalize Lanna arts and culture. Mr.Nakorn also designed and directed the ceremonial Prasat Fueang procession for the official inauguration of Mae Fah Luang University in 2004, and currently serves as a special lecturer in the short-course program in Buddhist Fine Arts at Mae Fah Luang University.

The conferment of Royal Honorary Doctorates and the "Tung Thong Kham" Distinguished Award reflects Mae Fah Luang University's commitment to recognizing distinguished individuals whose contributions have brought lasting benefit to society, the nation, and humanity — honoring them as role models and sources of inspiration for generations to come.
