เมื่อวันพฤหัสบดีที่ 12 มีนาคม พุทธศักราช 2569 พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวทรงพระกรุณาโปรดเกล้าโปรดกระหม่อมให้ สมเด็จพระกนิษฐาธิราชเจ้า กรมสมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี เสด็จพระราชดำเนินแทนพระองค์ไปพระราชทานปริญญาบัตรแก่ผู้สำเร็จการศึกษาจากมหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง ประจำปีการศึกษา 2567 ณ หอประชุมมหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง อำเภอเมืองเชียงราย จังหวัดเชียงราย

ภายหลังเสร็จสิ้นพิธี ทรงพระกรุณาโปรดเกล้าโปรดกระหม่อมทอดพระเนตรการขับร้องเพลง "ใต้แสงพระเมตตานิรันดร์" โดยนักศึกษามหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง

เพลงดังกล่าวประพันธ์คำร้องโดย อาจารย์ดนตร์ วิชัยสืบ (ภาษาไทย) ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.สุวิชาน พัฒนาไพรวัลย์ (ภาษาปกาเกอะญอและภาษากระเหรี่ยงโปว์) อาจารย์ชูชาติ ใจแก้ว (ภาษาไทใหญ่) และ Naw Emerald Si (ภาษาเมียนมาร์) ทำนองโดยอาจารย์ดนตร์ วิชัยสืบ และเรียบเรียงเสียงประสานโดย ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์อดิวัชร์ พนาพงศ์ไพศาล บรรจุเนื้อร้องถึง 5 ภาษา ได้แก่ ภาษาไทย ภาษาปกาเกอะญอ ภาษาไทใหญ่ ภาษาเมียนมาร์ และภาษา กระเหรี่ยงโปว์

ทั้งยังมีนักดนตรีจากหลากกลุ่มชาติพันธุ์ร่วมบรรเลงเครื่องดนตรีอันเป็นเอกลักษณ์ของแต่ละกลุ่ม ไม่ว่าจะเป็นเตหน่าของปกาเกอะญอ ซือบือของลีซู ตอยอฮอร์นของไทใหญ่ รวมถึงเครื่องดนตรีล้านนา สะท้อนอัตลักษณ์พหุวัฒนธรรมของมหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวงในฐานะสถาบันอุดมศึกษาแห่งอนุภูมิภาคลุ่มน้ำโขง

เนื้อหาของบทเพลงเปิดด้วยภาษาไทยบรรยายถึงแสงแห่งปัญญาจากฟากฟ้าที่ส่องนำพาชีวิตผู้คน ก่อนถ่ายทอดความรู้สึกร่วมของนักศึกษาจากหลากหลายชาติพันธุ์ผ่านบทเพลงในภาษาต่างๆ สะท้อนว่าแม้จะต่างภาษา ต่างรากเหง้า แต่หัวใจเรียนรู้ร่วมกันใต้ร่มพระบารมีเดียวกัน และน้อมสำนึกในพระมหากรุณาธิคุณที่จะจารึกในดวงใจนิรันดร์

On Thursday, 12 March B.E. 2569 (2026), His Majesty the King graciously commanded Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to preside over the degree conferment ceremony on His Majesty's behalf for graduates of Mae Fah Luang University for Academic Year 2024, held at the Mae Fah Luang University Auditorium, Mueang District, Chiang Rai Province.

Following the conclusion of the ceremony, Her Royal Highness graciously witnessed a special choral performance by Mae Fah Luang University students of the song "Tai Saeng Phra Metta Niran" (Under the Eternal Light of Royal Grace). The song features lyrics by Mr. Don Wichaiseub (Thai), Asst. Prof. Dr. Suwichan Phattanaphaiwong (Pgaz K'Nyau and Poe Karen), Mr. Chuchat Jaikaew (Tai Yai), and Naw Emerald Si (Myanmar), with music composed by Mr. Don Wichaiseub and choral arrangement by Asst. Prof. Adiwat Phanapongphaisan.

Rendered in five languages — Thai, Pgaz K'Nyau, Tai Yai, Myanmar, and Poe Karen musicians from multiple ethnic groups playing traditional instruments unique to their respective communities, including the teh-na of the Pgaz K'Nyau, the sue-baw of the Lisu, the toi-yor-horn of the Tai Yai, and various Lanna instruments. The performance reflected the multicultural identity of Mae Fah Luang University as a higher education institution of the Greater Mekong Subregion.
